The Eccentrics are committed to:
• celebrating the great game of cricket
The Eccentrics could well be ambassadors for the game of cricket throughout the world – we are keen to forge links with cricket organisations and cricket communities in countries with a traditional cricket culture as well as in countries where cricket has the potential to develop and flourish.
• providing opportunities for players of all ages to build and maintain strong cricket networks
The Eccentrics consider this an important role and encourage the membership of younger players with the intention of improving their networks and giving them a greater sense of the traditions and nuances of the game; at the same time the Eccentrics will encourage older players to continue or return to their cricketing careers.
• building goodwill and friendships across regional and cultural differences
The Eccentrics believe the game of cricket is one which readily embraces difference and our program will certainly provide opportunities for the development of friendships and the broadening of perspectives for those who take part; our social membership program is also consistent with this objective.
• supporting worthwhile community causes within Australia and overseas
The Eccentrics are committed to forging worthwhile partnerships with charitable organisations. Currently a relationship with Rotary is being established. We have also developed strategies for facilitating coaching opportunities for young cricketers male and female. Eventually we hope that this support of junior cricket will incorporate scholarships.
New club members are welcome, including non-playing (ie. social) members.
